Opera Classics for Meditation is an eighteen-track album, inspired by some of the most beloved music from the world of opera, is an hour-long journey designed to encourage a calm and peaceful environment. The album was created in perfect sequence; its energy builds from the album's opening moments, evolving into more powerful and expansive phrases, and then transitioning into complete stillness for deep relaxation. When played in sequence, these tracks’ beautiful textures and sustained notes provide an ideal background for any type of yoga practice or meditation. However, taken out of context, each track provides its own unique listening experience.

Inspired by works from Massenet’s Thais, Handel’s Xerxes, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and many other magnificent opera masterworks, Alex’s Davis’ Opera Classics for Meditation is the perfect addition to any yoga or meditation teacher, student, or enthusiast’s music collection.

The soundtrack for Bohemibot was released last month under the Obsidian Collective label, and I can’t believe it’s finally finished! It was a huge score, written for an epic-sized orchestra… it features screaming choirs, blaring brass, soaring strings, and larger-than-life percussion. The music sequence spans 215 tracks, and 6 dedicated computers are needed just to run the session! Beyond the tech stuff, my main concern was to find the perfect sound to match the tone of the film. It was a delicate juggling act, keeping the energy of the music high while creating an atmosphere to help convey the thoughts and emotions of the characters.
Tim Starnes (music supervisor) was in charge of the final mix. The man has golden ears! He created a breathtaking 5.1 overall mix for the film, but also created a specific stereo version for the soundtrack. The music came out sounding powerful and sweet… everything I was hoping for!
